About Me

Marriage and Family Therapy for Relationships, Communication, and Emotional Well-Being

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate | Doctoral Candidate at Texas Wesleyan University | Relationship and Family Systems Specialist

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate providing counseling for individuals, couples, and families across Texas. My work focuses on relationship issues, anxiety, depression, stress management, and family communication. I believe healthy relationships are the foundation of emotional wellness, and I help clients strengthen connection, resolve conflict, and develop balance within themselves and their relationships.

Education and Credentials

  • Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, Texas Wesleyan University
  • Doctoral Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Texas Wesleyan University
  • Co-author of Chapter 5: Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy in Marriage and Family Therapy: A Practice-Oriented Approach (3rd Edition) by Dr. Linda Metcalf, Ph.D.

My Therapy Approach

I use Bowen Family Systems Theory as the foundation of my work, which explores how family patterns, roles, and emotional processes shape relationships and mental health. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, and insight-driven, helping people understand themselves within the context of their relationships and life experiences.

Core elements of my work include:

  • Family systems insight to understand emotional patterns and roles
  • Cognitive-behavioral strategies to improve coping and reduce stress
  • Communication and problem-solving skills for families and couples
  • Support for emotional regulation, balance, and self-awareness

This integrative approach helps clients develop stronger emotional boundaries, reduce anxiety and conflict, and create more fulfilling relationships.

Who I Work With

I provide therapy for individuals, couples, parents, teens, and families navigating challenges such as:

  • Depression and Anxiety: Learning coping skills and emotional regulation strategies to improve daily functioning.
  • Relationship and Communication Issues: Strengthening understanding, rebuilding trust, and reducing conflict.
  • Divorce and Family Transitions: Supporting parents and families through change with structure and compassion.
  • Trauma and PTSD: Integrating systemic and trauma-informed approaches to promote safety and healing.
  • Chronic Pain and Sleep Disturbances: Addressing the emotional impact of physical stress and promoting mind-body balance.
  • Stress Management: Building resilience through mindfulness, boundary setting, and self-care strategies.

Whether working with individuals or families, my goal is to help clients build emotional awareness, improve communication, and foster lasting change.

Future Goals

In addition to clinical practice, I plan to continue contributing to research, publication, and teaching in the field of marriage and family therapy. My ongoing work is focused on expanding awareness of systemic approaches and empowering the next generation of therapists.
