About Me

Trauma-Informed Therapy for Complex PTSD, Dissociation, and Attachment Healing

Ph.D. Candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy | EMDR-Trained Therapist (EMDRIA) | Trauma and Family Systems Specialist

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Wesleyan University and a trauma-informed clinician specializing in complex PTSD, dissociation, attachment wounds, and family relationship dynamics. My approach integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Bowen Family Systems Therapy to help individuals and families heal from trauma, strengthen emotional regulation, and build secure relationships.

My Therapy Approach

I provide a compassionate, structured environment that supports trauma recovery at a pace that feels safe and manageable. My work blends evidence-based trauma therapies with systemic family insight to help clients process painful experiences while improving relationships and communication.

Core elements of my approach include:

  • EMDR Therapy (EMDRIA-trained): To help the brain reprocess and integrate traumatic memories safely and effectively.
  • Bowen Family Systems Therapy: To understand family patterns, boundaries, and emotional roles that shape current relationships.
  • Attachment-Focused Work: To repair internal models of trust, connection, and self-worth.
  • Mindfulness and Regulation Skills: To reduce dissociation and support emotional stability during recovery.

Whether we’re focusing on individual trauma or family dynamics, my goal is to create a foundation of safety, clarity, and growth.

How EMDR and Family Systems Work Together

EMDR therapy helps the brain reprocess trauma by reducing emotional distress tied to difficult memories, allowing for greater calm and control. When paired with family systems therapy, this approach supports healing not only from the inside out but also within the context of relationships and generational patterns.

Together, these methods help clients understand their emotional triggers, develop stronger self-awareness, and create new, balanced ways of connecting with others.

Who I Work With

I work with clients of all ages, including children (7+), teens, adults, and families navigating trauma, identity, and relational challenges.

Common areas of focus include:

  • Complex PTSD and Dissociation: Building safety, emotional regulation, and trauma processing through EMDR and somatic awareness.
  • Attachment and Relationship Healing: Repairing patterns of disconnection, avoidance, or over-dependence to foster secure bonds.
  • Identity and Self-Discovery: Exploring who you are beyond trauma and survival patterns.
  • Family Systems and Communication: Strengthening intergenerational understanding and resolving conflict through systemic awareness.
  • Emotional Dysregulation: Developing mindfulness and grounding skills to manage intense emotions and reduce overwhelm.

My approach is gentle yet focused, helping clients create sustainable emotional growth and healthier relational connections.
